Google is number one in the field of destructive technologies in the market, as the company try every area such as email services, search engine, mobile technologies, translator etc.

Google Gmail change the email world totally, that is now most common form of email using in the business world. As Gmail provide threaded conversations, unlimited storage, we can attach up-to 25mb files in Gmail easily whereas, other email services like yahoo, outlook etc. not allowing the same that allow Gmail to disrupt the demand of these email services for user who want to send large size mails.

Gmail also have very easy and effective search and build in instant messaging that makes it user friendly. Its compatibility and professional look attract most company to switch from Lotus Notes mailing or outlook server to Gmail email system. Moreover, Gmail is providing Gmailify users existing mail addresses to Gmail its same like you can port your number to different vendor without changing your number. Gmail is working on self-destructive mailing system now where user can select when he wants to destruct the email by selecting privacy mode option. There are many search engines in the internet world but Google is the most using and popular search engine due to its features. Google changed trend to search anything as its having advance options for search having sheer number of sites it indexes. Google Android

Google Android is a phone operating system, in 2009 it had less than 3% market share. Symbian had over 50% of market share. But by the end of 2017, Android’s market share had drastically increased to 90% whereas the Symbian had tumbled to effectively 0. Google did well because

·         There was a rise of Android by the rapid growth in microchip processing power (an edge case event) that effectively shrunk computers into handheld devices and sparked the smartphone revolution.

 

·         Google developers understood the ecosystem and instead of giving more emphasize on hardware design like Nokia they were more focus on creating an open source high compatibility operating system.

 

·         Google won battle with Nokia as when Nokia was more focused on the getting right corporate structure in place to launch, Google came properly read the market and acquire and develop immature Android OS to capitalize on an emerging trend.

 

         

 

Google Loon (Upcoming Innovative Technology)

Google loon is created by Google X in 2013, by this innovative technology Google will be able to give internet access to billions of people around the world. Loon is a network of balloons travelling on the edge of space, and delivered services to the people living in rural areas. Loon is partners with the mobile network operator to expand its reach while providing services to its users.

                         

Its fly between 60,000 and 90,000 feet and provide fastest wireless network i.e. 4G. There are some difficulties as well Google have to take over flight permission in different countries, they also have to consider the durability of their balloons, hardware failures can cause big damage as there were many incidents when their balloon crashed. Still there is a big scope in this area and after some improvement Google will have total hold on rural areas internet connectivity.

This technology will disrupt the current providers in the market, as no one wants to dig and the spread internet cables for connectivity. Loon was used in 2017 when hurricane maria struck Puerto Rico to provide emergency connectivity to over 200,000 people on the island, so this technology having scope in future.

Barriers that the innovation had to overcome to have full effect on the industry

·         At the time when Gmail was being developed by google, other mailing services like yahoo mail and Hotmail was too slow because their interface were written in plain HTML, so that was the biggest barrier for Gmail as they had to come up with better and fast interface. Google then used JavaScript code for this task and that came to be called AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML).

·         Google came to know about new barrier, that their advance search capabilities will led them to providing a generous amount of storage space, so they came up with the plan of providing 1 GB storage space for their users that was huge as compared to other providers as they were only providing 2 to 4 MB storage space.

·         Android today dominating market but when its start or in development stage the main barrier for them is to become compatible for different hardware devices or be an application that will work for any type of devices. So, they came up with the solution of creating an operating system with open source, that allows device manufacturers to customise and extend the Android operating system without any restriction.

·         Google loon is an upcoming technology that is in still testing stage, google testing loon in New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Africa now. But still research say it have barriers as google testing this technology clear weather or in winter so first open issues no body know how loon will respond in rain (where rain effect most significant above 10Ghz but google tested on lower frequencies i.e. 2.4 and 5.8 Ghz). Moreover, they are using ISM radio bands because they are unregulated in all countries, as these bands is not designated for telecommunications use. Google can switch to LTE bands but they still have to have telecom partner in each country to legally use this range. Technology is in testing stage so needs to get more data and statistics on the same, let’s wait and watch.

Google doing innovation in many field that effects human life directly or indirectly site like youtube, application like Duplex, operating system like Android changed human life totally. Now it is very easy to get any information for anyone online. Google android applications collect user’s location, personal data that tells us why it is important for providers to ensure the ethics of individual data security and also tell us why we should be more educate ourselves before using these technologies.

Moreover, Google introduce duplex technology in the market, that is an example of tech world building and deploying data consuming technologies like AI, that needs to be more focus on ethics and accountability. Because of duplex technology first time question is raised what is human and what is not. Users don’t know that they are talking with the human or a computer is quite disturbing.

That makes it necessary for google to take efforts on their employees training specially people working with data need to be more diverse and ethical. This will also affect positively the company life as it will build their own company environment.
