US WARNING TO WHO, FUNDING WILL STOP IN 30 DAYS
Washington:
US President Donald Trump is angry once again about the World Health
Organization (WHO). He has made it clear that if the WHO does not improve its
functioning in the next 30 days, it will stop the funding permanently. Trump
has written a letter in this regard to the Director General of the WHO, Tedros
Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The US
President has said in his letter, 'It is clear that repeated wrong steps have
been taken by you and your organization in dealing with the epidemic, which has
to bear the brunt of the whole world. The only way for the WHO to move forward
is to prove its independence from China '. He has further written that my
administration has already started talks with you to improve WHO. But immediate
action is needed, we do not have time to waste.
Trump
also said that the WHO could not pressure a team of international medical
experts to force Beijing to enter China despite the announcement of the
COVID-19 outbreak. Trump has posted a screenshot of this letter written on
White House official letterhead. The president wrote in his letter that the WHO
knew of the health threat facing Wuhan by December 30, 2019, it was also
informed by Taiwanese authorities. But he did not share this important
information with other countries of the world. Perhaps there is a political
reason behind this.
Significantly,
Donald Trump has been upset with China and the WHO since the Corona epidemic
wreaked havoc in the US. He says that the World Health Organization did not
work with transparency about the corona. Due to this, he had temporarily
stopped the funding of WHO from the US and now he has warned to stop funding
permanently. Let us tell you that the US gives $ 400 million to $ 500 million
fund to WHO every year. Whereas the World Health Organization receives about $ 40
million from China.
